Begin by CONTACTING ME with this form with a brief message about what you’re looking for: Mom & Child Portrait, Pet Portrait, Spirit Animal Portrait, or a unique request. Include your pets name and breed or the type of spirit animal in your message. Once I receive your email, I’ll send you a detailed brochure with size + pricing options to choose from. You’ll then choose a size & style.

CHOOSING A STYLE & SIZE: For Pet Portraits and Spirit Animals, I currently offer two styles, Totemic and Expressive. See more about each style here. Mother & Child portraits are painted in my Expressive style. Totemic portraits are symmetrical, highly detailed, and the animal is facing the viewer. Expressive portraits have the person or animal facing to the left or right, highlighting their profile. Please choose from the listed size options in my brochure or feel free to request a custom size.

PHONE CONSULTATION: Once we are connected via email, we will schedule a 15-30 minute phone call to discuss your custom portrait. This gives me the opportunity to go over the portrait process, the color palette, and the elements you wish to have me weave into your painting. This also gives me an opportunity to answer any questions you might have and get to know your energy and the energy of the subject matter. This exchange helps me to channel your unique energies beautifully into your piece. After our call, I will send you a brief summary via email.

DEPOSIT: After our phone call, a %50 deposit is required to ensure your place in my queue. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied towards the overall cost of the commission.

PRICING: My pricing is based on the size and level of detail put into each piece. Pricing begins with my smallest pieces at $400. There are options to add more details to your painting for an additional fee. Clients spend, on average, between $550-$850.

DRAFT: Once the size + elements are discussed and decided upon and the deposit is received, I will begin your highly detailed, black and white, graphite, line drawing draft.

Portrait Photos: The better the photos you send me the more accurate and authentic your portrait will feel to you. In my experience, my best work comes from photos that have been taken in natural lighting, in high resolution, close up & in focus. For Pets: I use photos of your pet directly facing the camera to create my unique, symmetrical work. Please be prepared to send 5-10 photos of your subject matter. If this is a memorial piece and you only have a certain amount of photos - no problem, I will work with what you have in order to create the most accurate painting.

Elements: can be almost anything: plants, other animals, flowers, specific landscapes, specific landmarks (ie) a gazebo you and your dog like to walk to, spiritual or religious symbolism, sacred geometry. In the very rare case that you ask for an element that I do not feel I can incorporate in a harmonious way I will let you know and we can find a creative solution that works for us both!

Color Palette: you can choose a palette based on one of my previous works or I can create a completely custom palette for you. As an example, I can create a palette to match the space you wish to hang your art in. I’ve had clients send me pictures of their spaces and accents, like colors of throw pillows, countertops, etc. so that I can create a harmonious arrangement of colors.
